Roses can be regarded as the first choice of bouquets to give to girlfriends or wives. The main reason is that its meaning is the embodiment of love and beauty. However, if the roses bought show signs of wilting during the maintenance process, it can be very disappointing. So in the face of this situation, how can we make effective remedies? Let's learn about it below.
The sudden wilting of roses is caused by a variety of factors. The top priority is to save them by scalding the roots! Maybe everyone will find it very incredible when they hear the word "scalding the roots". In fact, the principle is to kill the germs and eggs in the roots. The specific steps are not difficult. Take fresh-cut flowers as an example. The flowering period of roses is generally about 10 days. If its head droops after being raised for more than 10 days, it means the flowering period is over, and there is no need to scald the roots.
If the head droops after only being raised for two or three days, you can first make a new cut for the rose, then prepare a cup of boiling water at 80 degrees, put the freshly cut flower roots into the hot water to scald the roots. The stay time is about 40 seconds to 1 minute. During this period, you can observe whether there are bubbles coming out of the roots. The appearance of bubbles indicates the expulsion of air. After the time is up, cut off the whitened roots, and then insert it into deep water again, and use normal water temperature for the second flower awakening, which usually takes 4 to 5 hours. It should be noted here that when the flowers are awakened for the second time, the flowers may float. If it floats, find something to press it down, try to let the roots be fully soaked in water, and do not wet the flower heads. Finally, after the flower heads become upright after completion, they can be normally inserted into a vase for maintenance.
If you find that the potted roses are wilting, the treatment method is similar. Take the rose seedlings out of the nutrition bowl or the soil, gently shake off the excess soil, but try not to damage the roots. Then put the cleaned rose roots in hot water for about 15-30 seconds. After scalding the roots, immediately put them in cold water to cool down, then use scissors to cut off the damaged roots. Finally, plant the treated rose seedlings in new potting soil and water and maintain them in the normal way.
