In hot weather, many people drink a lot of water. Therefore, many flower lovers think that people are like flowers. Due to the rapid evaporation of water in hot weather, they are diligent in spraying water on plant leaves to increase humidity and lower the temperature. However, plants have essential differences from humans in characteristics. So, don't spray water on plants self-righteously anymore. The following text compiles some common plants that cannot be sprayed with water for you.

Common plants that will have rotten leaves when sprayed with water include hydrangeas, gloxinia, Plectranthus hadiensis var. tomentosus, and pelargoniums. They are the best-selling flowers in the flower market. They have the same feature of having fine small fluff distributed on their leaves. Therefore, most of the water cannot be absorbed by the roots but can only remain on the leaves. Over time, it will cause the leaves to be blocked, and the later consequences are problems such as rotten stems, rotten roots, and black rot.

Also, another two plants that will have rotten stems when sprayed with water are Rieger begonias and Four-season begonias. Their feature is that their stems are thick and fleshy. Generally, some plants with fleshy stems do not need excessive water because they can already store water inside themselves. Once they are full of water and you still spray water on them unknowingly, the consequence is problems of rotten stems and rotten leaves.

By the same token, there are also some plants with fleshy petioles, such as cyclamen and violets. Their growth form is clustering at the base of the leaves, and their leaves are also covered with fine fluff. Both of these features help them reduce water evaporation. Therefore, if you still spray water on them in daily life, it may cause problems such as rotten leaves and rotten roots. In addition, be careful not to water them during the rainy season. It is recommended to artificially add some sand to the bottom of the pot or mix it with the soil to improve their drainage performance.

Furthermore, there are plants like orchids, clivia, and hippeastrum with multiple "leaf cores". Because their feature is that new leaves and flower arrows emerge from the leaf cores and grow upward. Therefore, if you spray water on their leaves, the water will flow along their leaves into the leaf cores. When water accumulates in the leaf cores and cannot evaporate, it will easily lead to rotten cores.
