Today, I'd like to share with you about the Phalaenopsis - Tianlai.
The Phalaenopsis Tianlai has a medium to large flower shape. Its flowers are like big tongues dancing gracefully, which are extremely vivid and lively. The base color of the petals is as white as snow, and there are purplish red patches dotted in the center, forming a sharp contrast with the white petals and adding a sense of hierarchy to the flowers. No matter where it is placed in the home, it will surely become the eye-catching focus.
Under normal maintenance, the flowering period of the Phalaenopsis Tianlai can last for 2 to 3 months. If the environment is suitable, for example, the temperature and humidity are properly controlled and there is appropriate supplementary lighting, the flowering period can even be extended to about 4 months.
When maintaining it, don't worry if you find that the leaves are cracked. It may be due to a significant change in humidity. When the Phalaenopsis is suddenly transferred from a high humidity environment to a dry one, the leaves are prone to cracking. The way to deal with it is to adjust the humidity gradually. You can use a humidifier to increase the humidity, or place it on a tray with a water pan.
In addition, improper watering can also lead to leaf cracking. If you water too much at one time and the roots can't absorb it all, the internal pressure of the plant will increase, and the leaves will crack. The correct way is to follow the principle of "water thoroughly when the soil is dry". Insert your finger 2 to 3 centimeters into the planting medium. Water it when you feel it is dry, and make sure to water it thoroughly.
Maintenance Methods
Light: The Phalaenopsis Tianlai prefers bright scattered light, and it is quite suitable to place it 1 to 2 meters away from the window. In summer, when the sunlight is strong, pull up the sunshade net to prevent sunburn; in winter, it can be exposed to the sun appropriately.
Temperature: The most suitable growth temperature is 25 to 28°C during the day and 18 to 20°C at night. When the temperature exceeds 30°C in summer, pay attention to ventilation and cooling, and when the temperature is lower than 15°C in winter, good heat preservation measures should be taken.
Fertilization: Apply a thin liquid fertilizer once every 1 to 2 weeks during the growing season. When the flower buds are differentiating, change to phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which can make the flowers lush and large. Remember to apply thin fertilizers frequently, and never apply concentrated fertilizers.
Friendly Reminder
Good ventilation is very important! Be sure to keep the ventilation good, otherwise, it is easy to breed pests and diseases.
Don't change the pot too frequently. Generally, it is enough to change the pot once every 1 to 2 years, and it is best to do it after the flowering period. When changing the pot, handle it carefully and gently to avoid damaging the roots.
Is the Phalaenopsis Amabilis a large - flowered or small - flowered variety?
