Today, I'd like to tell you all about the "beauty icon" among Phalaenopsis orchids — Phalaenopsis "Kite". This is truly a treasure variety that orchid enthusiasts should not miss!

Phalaenopsis "Kite" is a medium-flower variety. The petals are purely white, with a slight wavy curl at the edges. And that purple stamen is just like the finishing touch, with a harmonious and charming color combination, maximizing its ornamental value! When placed at home, any random shot will result in a stunning picture.

The flowering period is also quite impressive. Generally speaking, the natural flowering period of Phalaenopsis "Kite" is from winter to the following spring, lasting approximately 2 to 3 months. If it is properly cared for, and with some little tricks, such as appropriately controlling the temperature and light, its flowering period can be extended for a while longer.

Overall, Phalaenopsis "Kite" is not very difficult to care for and is quite friendly to beginners. It prefers a warm, humid, and well-ventilated environment, with the optimal temperature maintained between 15 and 28°C. There is no need to water it too frequently. Just follow the principle of "watering when the soil surface is dry", and water it thoroughly when the substrate surface is dry. You can also spray some water around it at ordinary times to increase the air humidity. In terms of light, diffused light is sufficient. Don't let strong light shine directly on it, otherwise, the leaves are likely to be sunburned.

If you find that the leaves of Phalaenopsis "Kite" turn yellow, don't panic. It may be due to excessive watering, which leads to root rot. At this time, quickly take the plant out of the pot, cut off the rotten roots, disinfect them, and then replant it in a new substrate. It may also be caused by too strong light. Just move it to a place with soft light to let it recover. There is also a situation where it lacks fertilizer. Appropriate supplementation of some special fertilizer for orchids will quickly restore its vitality.

It is best to repot Phalaenopsis "Kite" after the flowering period. Prepare a new flower pot and breathable substrate. Gently take the Phalaenopsis out of the old pot, slowly shake off the old substrate from the roots, and be careful not to damage the roots. Plant it in the new pot, fill in the substrate, water it thoroughly, and place it in a cool and ventilated place for seedling recovery. Don't fertilize it in the short term after repotting, and wait for it to adapt to the new environment.
