Recently, I've been deeply fascinated by Phalaenopsis 'Yu Guanyin'. Today, I'd like to give you a detailed introduction!
Phalaenopsis 'Yu Guanyin' is not a European flower. It's a variety in the Phalaenopsis family that is full of oriental charm.
Phalaenopsis 'Yu Guanyin' belongs to the medium to large flower type. Its petals are pure white, and the warm-toned large honey-colored lip is quite eye-catching. The inflorescence is neat, the leaves are thick and strong. It's not only good-looking but also easy to maintain. The contrasting color combination of white flowers and orange centers makes it more attractive and unique.
The flowering period of 'Yu Guanyin' is relatively long. If properly cared for, from the initial blooming of the flowers to their gradual withering, it can last about 3 to 4 months.
Many flower lovers are worried that it's difficult to grow. In fact, as long as you grasp the key points, 'Yu Guanyin' can also thrive.
Light: It prefers soft, diffused light and should never be exposed to direct sunlight to avoid damage to the delicate petals and leaves. It can be placed by the indoor window to enjoy the gentle sunlight.
Temperature: The most suitable growth temperature is between 18 and 28 °C. In winter, special attention should be paid to keeping it warm. The temperature should not be lower than 10 °C, otherwise it will affect its growth and even cause the plant to be frostbitten.
Watering: The principle of "watering thoroughly when the soil is completely dry" should be followed. Gently insert your finger about 2 to 3 centimeters deep into the soil. Water it when you feel the soil is dry. When watering, make sure that the water penetrates thoroughly so that the water seeps out from the bottom of the pot. But never let water accumulate to avoid root rot.
Fertilization: During the growth period, a thin liquid fertilizer can be applied every 2 to 3 weeks. Before the flowering period, increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to promote more gorgeous and numerous flowers.
Maintenance Tips
Make sure that the ventilation is smooth and avoid a stuffy and humid environment to reduce the breeding of bacteria, pests and diseases.
Regularly check the condition of the plant. Once signs of yellow leaves, withered leaves or pests and diseases are found, take immediate measures to deal with them.
If pot changing is needed, the best time is in spring. Change the potting soil once every 1 to 2 years to ensure the fertility and air permeability of the soil.
