Cats are really so curious. They are always sniffing around here and there. So, everyone should be especially careful because some plants are really dangerous for them!

For example, lilies are truly the "number one enemy" of cats. Their pollen, petals, branches, and leaves can all poison cats if they come into contact with them. Cats may experience severe symptoms such as vomiting, loss of appetite, and even kidney failure! Tulips and narcissus are also bad. They contain toxins. If cats accidentally eat them, they will vomit, have diarrhea, and may also affect the liver and nervous system.

Also, household green plants like Epipremnum aureum and Hedera helix seem gentle, but they are actually harmful to cats. If cats chew on their leaves, their mouths will be irritated, and they will vomit, have diarrhea, and may even cause skin allergies. Rhododendron should be kept away from even more. Its flowers and leaves are poisonous. If a cat eats them, it may have difficulty breathing, a rapid heartbeat, and in severe cases, it may fall into a coma or even die!

Apart from the above - mentioned plants, there are many other plants that are not suitable to coexist with cats, such as oleander, Rohdea japonica, and Alocasia macrorrhiza. Oleander is highly toxic. Cats may experience severe poisoning symptoms after contact or accidental ingestion, and it may even endanger their lives. The sap of Rohdea japonica irritates the mouth and gastrointestinal tract of cats and may cause symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea. The sap of Alocasia macrorrhiza contains toxins. After cats come into contact with it, it may cause itchy and swollen skin. If they accidentally eat it, it may lead to severe poisoning reactions.

So, to ensure the safety of cats, owners should be extremely cautious when choosing household plants. If you are not sure whether a certain plant is safe for cats, you can consult a veterinarian or look up relevant information. At the same time, owners should also place plants in places where cats can't reach them to prevent cats from accidentally eating or coming into contact with poisonous plants.

In conclusion, it is the responsibility of every cat owner to know which plants cats can't live with. Only by providing a safe living environment for cats can they grow up healthy and happy.
