Today, I'd like to recommend a type of Phalaenopsis orchid to you all - the Phalaenopsis Split. Without exaggeration, it is the "beauty representative" among Phalaenopsis orchids, and it's definitely worth buying!
The Phalaenopsis Split belongs to the Anthura Phalaenopsis variety and is truly a beauty in the orchid world. It is of a medium-flower type. The petals are flat and stretched out, the inflorescence is neat and orderly, the color scheme is dignified and elegant, and the stripes are clear and sharp. With its overall gentle, elegant, and fresh temperament, placing it at home can instantly enhance the style and maximize its ornamental value.
The flowering period of the Phalaenopsis Split is extremely long. If properly maintained, it can keep blooming for 2 to 3 months. Generally, its natural flowering period is in winter and spring. However, in a suitable indoor environment, it can even bloom across seasons, giving you plenty of time to appreciate its beauty.
During maintenance, if you accidentally apply too much fertilizer, don't panic! First of all, water it in large quantities, let the water flow through the soil to dilute the fertilizer concentration, and drain the excess fertilizer through the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. Secondly, observe the condition of the plant. If symptoms of fertilizer damage occur, such as yellowing or withering of the leaves, you can take the plant out of the pot, wash the roots, trim the damaged root system, and then replace it with new clean substrate and replant it.
Daily Maintenance
Lighting: Place it in a brightly lit area indoors to receive scattered light, and avoid direct exposure to strong light, otherwise the leaves are likely to be sunburned. Ensuring 4 to 6 hours of light every day can meet its growth requirements.
Watering: Follow the principle of "watering when the soil is dry and then thoroughly". Water it after the surface of the substrate is dry, and water it thoroughly each time. Generally, water it once every 7 to 10 days, and adjust the specific frequency according to the environmental humidity and temperature.
Fertilization: Apply a thin liquid fertilizer once every 10 to 15 days during the growing season, and increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before the flowering period to promote flower bud differentiation.
Precautions
Temperature: The suitable growth temperature is between 18°C and 28°C. In winter, it should not be lower than 10°C, otherwise it is prone to frost damage.
Humidity: It prefers a high-humidity environment. Keep the air humidity at 60% to 80%, and you can increase the humidity by spraying water, placing a basin of water, etc.
Ventilation: Maintain good ventilation and avoid a stuffy and humid environment, otherwise it is prone to the breeding of pests and diseases.
